This course is a comprehensive annual recurrent training session that is insurance company approved for:
- All Single engine piston airplanes
- All Multi-engine piston airplanes
- King Air 90, 100, and 200 series turboprop airplanes
- Cheyenne I and II series turboprop airplanes
The recurrent training includes 10 hours of ground school and 10 hours of simulator training. All simulator training is conducted in one of our two fully FAA approved AATD’s (Flight Simulators). We have an iGate 501 and a new iGate 512 with the widely acclaimed Garmin GNS 530.
Flight portion
Simulator training includes instrument proficiency work, tracking, holds, and a minimum of 6 approaches including precision, non-precision, missed, and to a landing. Also abnormal situations including instrument and systems issues are introduced in a scenario based training environment.
Flight training
Ground based training includes a comprehensive refresher including performance, systems, runway safety as well as up to date information on weather information, ATC procedures, TFR and security issues. A review of recent accident trends, maintenance issues, and system related issues appropriate to the aircraft type are also reviewed.
Basically, the intense review is designed to eliminate any rust that has accumulated, ensure that knowledge is up to date, and sharpen both knowledge and skills. All items needed to renew instrument currency are covered during the review. If an IPC is needed or desired, an additional hour of aircraft flight time can be added to complete the IPC requirements.
