Description:

This is a highly interactive, face-to-face seminar focusing on improving aviation safety.  It is not a webinar.

The Nall report, now in its 28th edition, provides data and commentary on the state of general aviation safety.  The report generates much discussion and action by organizations such as the ASI, AOPA, FAA and others – and they produce excellent material for us to study and review. But even though the number of accidents has been generally reducing over time, the causes are frustratingly familiar, and the rate of improvement doesn’t seem to be in line with the effort expended - although we will take all we can get.

So, what else can be done to learn from—and then influence—the accident statistics, and why are you the person to do it?

This seminar strives to improve the numbers by direct, continuous and active management of the factor that gives us 75% of all accidents—ourselves.  Using data from the Nall report, we’ll explore the major causal factors of pilot related accidents, and from this, reinforce essential knowledge and training methods that have perhaps been previously imposed, rather than fully understood.

On the same day, join us at 9:00am for an AOPA Rusty Pilots seminar that also gives WINGS credit.  You can register here: https://hangar.aopa.org/events/item/52/2826

At 2:00pm, there will be an opportunity to hear about how to start and run a flying club, presented by the AOPA Flying Clubs Team. This is a great opportunity, as currently there are no clubs at St.Mary's Regional Airport. No registration required.
