Brief Description:
A full, half-day “Super Saturday” Seminar is planned for Saturday, March 14 at KGTU; A slate of aviation experts will present topics of interest to all pilots. The seminar is a collaborative and joint effort of Capital of Texas EAA Chapter #187 and the North Austin IMC Club. Both organizations meet at KGTU on a monthly basis and invite everyone to participate in their events.
The seminar will be held at GTU JET’s Hanger, 160 Terminal Drive, Georgetown, TX 78628. Pancakes and sausage will be served to those arriving early by Chapter #187’s dedicated volunteers beginning around 8:45. (donations accepted) Parking will be adjacent and marked. We encourage you to bring a lawn chair
Join us for the following speakers:
- Mike Slack, a principal aviation attorney with Slack, Davis & Sanger, will speak on the Practical Aspects of Aviation Law.
- Greg Squires will speak on Check rides from a DPE’s Point of View as well as VFR communications with ATC.
- Marc Alexander the developer of NavMonster & N-Numbers will speak on his company’s very popular flight planning apps.
- Dave Reynolds will present the EAA’s Pilot Proficiency Center’s new Flight Simulator Based - Proficiency 365 program & the IMC Club’s ForeFlight Education Series.
- Martyn & Cyndi Atterton from FIT2FLY will speak on Maintaining Health & Your Medical
- Curtis Wilson may speak on Stall/Spin Accident Recovery & ORBIS.
There is no fee to attend. Lunch may be catered as well TBD

Flying In – Set your GPS to KGTU and select "Direct-To, Enter, Enter" via Austin Approach; once you are on the ground, ask to park at the Terminal Building. GTU Jet' Hanger is a short walk and you will be directed.
Driving in - From I-35, Go East on Lakeway Drive (CR 190A); Turn Right (North) on Airport Road; Turn Left (West) on Terminal Drive; Go to straight to the end. Vehicle parking will be indicated
Walking in – Yeah, like a pilot is going to walk that far! Probably NOT! You may want to try carpooling!
