Topic:
Not an Easy Day: A Study in Aeronautical Decision Making.IFR decisions relating to an actual accident.
Speaker(s):
Mike Bauer CFII, Karen Kalishek
Brief Description:
Not an Easy Day: A Study in Aeronautical Decision Making
Description: We will follow a crew on a compassion flight as they make several flights through deteriorating weather on an increasingly long day. Would you have made the same decisions that they did? Would you have suffered the same outcome?
In this session we will explore a actual accident that happened in the IFR environment to see if different decisions by the pilot might have changed the outcome.
Guest instrument pilots and students welcome.
Use real world scenarios to increase your level of safety in the IFR environment. Safe instrument flying is a matter of mitigating risk, personal minimums and standard operating procedures. If you have and use sound judgment, establish personal minimums and good procedures, you can enjoy a long and successful career of instrument flying. The Green Bay IMC Club provides organized “hangar flying” focused on building proficiency in instrument flying. An instrument rating is not required for attendance.
