Title:
IMC Club - Above the Clouds with a Dark PFD moderated by Max Trescott
Topic:
It is supposed to be in the dark flying at night, that's part of the magic. Except when a glass panel goes dark at night.
Date and Time:
Wednesday, June 26, 2019, starting at 18:30 Central Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Max Trescott
Brief Description:

It is an early evening, easy flight from Cleveland Lorraine County Regional (KLPR) to Nashville (KBNA). Not! This is an IMC Club meeting, nothing happens without some kind of a problem and the opportunity for us to have a discussion about what circumstances our unfortunate pilot friend faces. What unfortunate problem? His PFD goes dark shortly after takeoff; ceilings are not good, better weather ahead but how far? Yikes! So, we’ll figure out our best answer to the infamous IMC Club question, “what would you do?”

Speaker bio: Max Trescott is the 2008 National CFI of the Year. He’s heard around the world talking about general aviation each week on his Aviation News Talk podcast.

IMC Club: The IMC Club’s purpose is to promote instrument flying, proficiency, and safety. The intent is to create a community of pilots willing to share their perspective, provide recognition, foster communications, promote safety, and build proficiency in instrument flying. An IFR rating is not needed to participate in this excellent forum where we think through the various options from the comfort of your chair, firmly on the ground... before it is you sitting in the cockpit.

We meet monthly when pilots (and would-be pilots) network and share knowledge and experiences to keep our head in the game.
