Brief Description:
On July 10 2018, David Lessnick (the creator of the SSA WEBINAR series) crashed a perfect flying sailplane in the remote desert of Tonopah NV. This webinar will break down the entire flight and analyze the mistakes that by all accounts, should have cost David his life. We will also discuss some key preparation, skills and equipment required to survive AFTER a crash in a remote location.
Ramy Yanetz, who is known the world over for his cross-country soaring abilities and hundreds of 1000k flights, spends his spare time analyzing glider accidents and learning from them. Ramy and David will analyze the "chain of events" that led to this avoidable event and discuss the "lessons learned". Whether you are just beginning your flying career or are a 20,000 hr pilot, you won't want to miss this one!
After this webinar, you will know:
- Critical mistakes to avoid when flying cross country
- How to stack survival odds in your favor if you do live through the crash
- How to recognize and avoid potentially deadly traps that can happen to the best of us
