Brief Description:
I’M A PILOT, NOT A METEOROGIST – The FAA’s Weather Technology in the Cockpit (WTIC) recently assessed pilot weather knowledge by administering an exam to a diverse group of pilots with varying demographics and qualifications. The study identified a number of aviation-related weather concepts that were frequently misunderstood. This session will be an interactive pilot-oriented meteorology tutorial to clarify these concepts. In addition, the session will provide information on weather products being developed by the FAA’s Aviation Weather Research Program (AWRP) and answer meteorology-related questions from attendees.
