Date and Time:
Wednesday, November 14, 2018, starting at 19:00 Eastern Standard Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Tim Heron
Brief Description:

Last month’s discussion focused on FAR 91.185(c) (Lost Comm) that included an arrival to the destination well ahead of the ETA. During this month’s meeting, we extend that NORDO discussion by introducing into the scenario an Off-Route Obstruction Clearance Altitude (OROCA) component during a long cross country flight transitioning large metropolitan areas in IMC conditions.  Discussion will center on locating and using all pilot-available pre- and in-flight electronic flight bag (EFB) tools to occasion a safe flight and compliance with 91.185 and 91.177.
