New SFO Class B - How to Be Ready
New San Francisco Class Bravo Airspace becoming effective 8-16-18.
Date and Time:
Wednesday, August 15, 2018, starting at 19:30 Pacific Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Kostas Speridakos
Brief Description:

As pilots, we need to know how to navigate the new SFO Class B airspace from Day 1.  The new layout is effective August 16th (the day after this seminar!) and contains significant changes that affect almost every kind of operation.

We will highlight differences between the old and new Class B, as well as how the new design affects local flight operations including arrivals and departures to/from PAO and SQL.  In addition, we will share the best tools you can use to familiarize yourself with the new airspace before it goes live.

Kostas is a CFI at West Valley Flying Club and an independent aerospace engineer specializing in airspace integration and Safety Risk Management (SRM) analysis.  While previously an FAA contractor, he designed flight tests to certify ADS-B data for use in air traffic control.  Later at NASA Ames Research Center, he tested new tools to improve the efficiency of the FAA's traffic management software systems.

Join us for a review of the new SFO Class B layout, as well as some neat tools and exercises you can do to ensure safe, fun, stress-free flying!
