Presenter Susan Parson
Susan has been with the FAA since May 2004, serving as editor in chief for the FAA Safety Briefing magazine, FAA team lead for the Airman Certification Standards project, and special assistant to the Flight Standards Service executive director. Susan has authored nearly 100 GA safety articles and several online training documents and courses. She holds an ATP certificate, as well as ground and flight instructor certificates with instrument, single engine, and multi-engine land ratings.
Presenter Paul Preidecker
Paul is the chief flight instructor and examiner for a regional airline overseeing their pilot training program. He has over 7,500 hours and an ATP Certificate with type ratings in the CL-65 and Do-328. He's a ground and flight instructor (Gold Seal), simulator and line check airman, FAA Aircrew Program Designee, and FAA Designated Observer with 6,800+ hours of instruction given in Part 61 and Part 121 operations.
Paul maintains his commitment to general aviation, instructing for 27 years, sharing his extensive experience in both GA and commercial aviation, as a member of the NAFI Professional Development Program committee and volunteering in many other capacities with industry and the FAA. An accomplished aviator and teacher, Paul aims to contribute to aviation safety using his training insights to blend accepted best practices between GA and Part 121.
Guest Sabrina Woods
Sabrina is a human factors scientist with the Federal Aviation Administration’s Air Traffic Organization (ATO). Prior to joining the ATO, she was an associate writer and editor for the FAA’s general aviation magazine the FAA Safety Briefing. She is currently a doctoral candidate at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University studying Aviation Human Factors with an emphasis in detecting errors of cognition. She currently holds a Master’s Degree in Professional and Technical Writing, a Master’s Degree in Aerospace Science with an emphasis in Human Factors, and a Bachelor’s Degree in English with a minor in Secondary Education.
Sabrina has over 14 years of experience as a researcher and practitioner in applied aviation safety theory, human factors, human performance, and aircraft accident investigation with the FAA and with the United States Air Force. She is an active and contributing member of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society and the American Psychological Association.
In her spare time Miss Woods enjoys playing and watching ice hockey, long-distance bike events, and being dog-mom to two incredibly spoiled miniature dachshunds.
