Say it again - please
Communication between local controllers, and you.
Date and Time:
Thursday, March 15, 2018, starting at 18:00 Eastern Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Don Kent & Nicolas Candelier
Brief Description:

Our daily traffic count, has been over a thousand operations a day. At a smaller airport, with 3 runways or less, it’s take a lot of hard, professional work, to deal with it. Often, there is; frequency congestion, over talking, and un trained language.

So, what we need to say, and how we say it - in just few words? to fly safe, and communicate to the control tower, center, traffic and other pilots, is crucial to keep our sky safe.

Our discussion will include communicating with approach controllers, common terms/phraseology used, along with understanding some parts of the Miami and the local airspace.

Thanks to Broward College, and the Aviation Department for their help to bring here our seminar; special thanks to Emilia Colageo- and Dr. Sean Gallagan.

Thanks to our speakers, both are very experience controllers, that took it on themselves, to “refresh, and bring “new terminations” to us.

Served at HWO tower for the last 4 years. Prior to this he served as a controller at Fairbanks Tower, Bethel Tower, Merrill Tower, Anchorage Tower, Anchorage Approach, Miami Center, ORF. Don is very experienced in our busy airspace, that includes a variety of flying operations, tour airplanes, helicopters, flight schools from all kinds, private pilots, professional, and more.

Nicholas Candelier -  has been an air traffic controller for 8 years, starting at Boston Center and then moving down and certifying at Miami TRACON in early 2016.
