Topic:
This presentation discusses engine failures and best practices for avoiding or responding to engine failure events.
Speaker(s):
Richard ('Dick') Petrucci
Brief Description:
In this presentation we'll be discussing findings and recommendations from the General Aviation Joint Steering Committee's System/Component Failure Work Group. You'll see and hear two expert panels - one comprised of Avaition Maintenance Professionals and the other consisting of Flight Instructors and Designated Pilot Examiners. They'll use a selected engine failure accident springboard for discussion of GA Maintenance and Operations considerations with respect to engine failure. The Maintenance Panel will be concerned with engine failure preventive measures and the Ops Panel will be discussing appropriate actions to take following an engine failure. Hence:Engine Failure - Before and After.
