Flight instructors are the vital creators of all aviation safety. Our professional aviation educators serve the industry largely out of passion and commitment to aviation excellence. They create all our future pilots and both set and maintain the standards of skill, knowledge, judgment and safety.

SAFE (The Society of Aviation and Flight Educators) is producing this program and has been promoting aviation excellence for educators and pilots since 2009. SAFE supplies all the quarterly DPE/CFI Forums for the FAAST team presentations! SAFE provides the aviation community with resources to advance the CFI profession and to assist aviation educators in developing skilled, knowledgeable, and safe members of the aviation community. SAFE is an all volunteer, educational not-for-profit professional organization and contains a disproportionate number of the top aviators in the country. They sponsored the original PIlot Training Reform Symposium and created the popular CFI Toolkit App used by over 1500 working CFIs. SAFE is presenting this live stream program with the expert assistance of Gold Seal Groundschool. We invite your participation at #askgoldseal

If you are a flight instructor (or interested in becoming one) join us for this real world discussion of strategies and tools for growing as a professional instructor. Walk away with actionable new ideas and techniques from our industry professionals! Pursue excellence in aviation.

Presenters:

Rod Machado needs no introduction to aviators. He is a professional aviation educator and speaker who delights his listeners with upbeat and lively presentations. His unusual talent for simplifying the difficult and adding humor to make the lessons stick has made him a popular lecturer both in and out of aviation. He has over 10,000 hours of flight experience earned the hard way—one CFI hour at a time.  He also holds degrees in aviation science and psychology. His blog has a special section with free tools created specifically for CFIs. Visit his website of resources here.

Greg Brown is a professional aviator and CFI who wrote "The Savvy Flight Instructor, Secrets of the Successful CFI" (recently updated and expanded). He was 2000 National Flight Instructor of the Year, earned the 1999 NATA Excellence in Pilot Training Award, and was the very first Master Flight Instructor. He is an avid professional photographer and active pilot supporting aviation through his Flying Carpet Column in AOPA Flight Training Magazine, speaking engagements and his popular FaceBook site. Greg's website is here.

David St. George is the board chairman of SAFE and an FAA Pilot Examiner. He recently renewed his Master Instructor for the tenth time. Formerly a 141 Chief Instructor for over 25 years, he started flying at 16 and has logged over 16,000 hours (12K dual) and is currently a 135 captain. He owns a 1946 7AC Aeronca Champ and maintains the popular SAFE Toolkit app.

Russell Still is a lifetime CFI who runs the Gold Seal Groundschool Network.
