Speaker(s):
CFI Thomas Daniel
Brief Description:

A cross-country flight is defined as a flight including a point of landing of more than 50 nautical miles from the point of departure.  But does a flight like that really cross the country?  A lot can happen when you pick a destination 3,000 miles away and set out in an airplane.  Weather changes, system quirks and failures, international borders, and many other things.  In a word: Adventure!

Join SCFC in welcoming CFI Thomas Daniel to share the story of his 6,000 nm round-trip cross-country flight from San Carlos to Miami, Florida and the Bahamas.  The adventure spanned 3 weeks and 40 hours of flight time.  We’ll hear about his planning, and what happened on the trip that wasn’t planned for, including an in-flight emergency.  If you are considering taking a long flight across the US, you won’t want to miss out on this presentation.
