With all the weather products on the market, how and where does a pilot find the best weather information for cross-country flight planning? How do we focus on the information that is most relevant to us and confidently interpret the reports?
In this seminar we will familiarize pilots with the 2023 update of AviationWeather.Gov and it's useful features. We will refresh basic knowledge around weather products and what to expect whenflying through forecasted fronts, pressure systems, and hazardous weather. A hypothetical cross-country flying scenario will be used to practice weather planning, flight planning, risk assessment and decision making.
Attendees will then have the opportunity for a short session in our Redbird AATD flight simulator which will replicate part of the scenario discussed in the presentation and highlight the importance of in-flight decision making when encountering significant weather.
