Title:
Roanoke ATC - Behind the Mic
Topic:
An evening with Roanoke Air Traffic Controllers
Speaker(s):
Leah Sanders, Aubrey Brady, Diana Beard, Nicholas Baker, Marisa Palacio, Michael Fleming, Elizabeth Gilbert, and Cecil Mcbride
Brief Description:
Join us at the Virginia Tech Airport for an evening with the Safety Team and Roanoke Air Traffic Controllers. This seminar is your chance to meet the voices you hear on the radio, learn how they keep Roanoke’s busy airspace running smoothly, and sharpen your own communication skills.
In addition to answering questions from the pilot community, we’ll discuss some airspace and communication basics and what to expect when things don’t go as planned. A veteran DPE with over five decades of experience will provide some words of wisdom.
After the seminar, enjoy pizza while connecting with other pilots in the community.
