Date and Time:
Saturday, December 14, 2024, starting at 09:00 Central Standard Time (07:00 PST; 08:00 MST; 10:00 EST; 05:00 HST; 06:00 AKST; 08:00 Arizona; 15:00 GMT)

Brief Description:
Our panel navigates the participants though the development, implementation, and commissioning of Instrument Flight Procedures (IFP), along with the four areas of required instrument procedure maintenance. We will explore the certification of an airport Runway/Heliport/Vertiport for IFR procedures, including night operations and how Hughes secures an official FAA LOCID for the aerodrome. The presentation will highlight Runway/Heliport evaluations, Obstacle categorizations, airspace engineering, the Environmental Process and Flight Inspection/Validation activities. The commissioning/maintenance of VGSI’s – PAPI/VASI will also be explained. Participants will examine the benefits and differences of NextGen vertically and non-vertically guided approaches, such as LPV, LP, LNAV/VNAV and LNAV, compared to legacy procedures such as VOR/ILS. We will also introduce A-RNP and trajectory-based RF or “Radius-to-Fix” flight segments.
