Brief Description:
Getting the weather is one of the first actions a pilot takes when contemplating a flight. This session will arm you with a better understanding of all of the resources available from the National Weather Service. The presentation will cover:
- An introduction of the NWS both at the national scale and local SLC office scale
- Showing what the local NSW office does do day-to-day to provide the weather reports and forecasts you use in flight planning
- Demonstrating the resources/services that the SLC office provides, including
- The local website
- The new TAF service at U42
- A demo of the Aviation Weather Center's new website
