Brief Description:
This presentation will look at overall seaplane accident trends as presented by the Seaplane Pilots Association and the AOPA ASI. These trends will be compared to overall trend data from the 2020 Nall report. The presentation will further look at critical phases of flight where loss of control accidents are prevalent and the best practices during these phases of flight. The presentation will review why wings stall and stall avoidance, take off and landing performance and water operations. An emphasis will be placed on amphibious aircraft operation with respect to gear position in preparation for landing.
