Brief Description:
2-hour meeting where Representatives from Civilian and U.S. military contractors will be present and answer questions on their parachute training activities around Ryan, Marana, Pinal and possible other locations.This scheduled 1.5 hour meeting is directed towards awareness of flight training providers and all pilots who transit near and/or through parachute operation areas. Safety in this airspace goes beyond just having the NOTAMS for Parachute Jump Excercise PJE. Communicating with TRACON and/or Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC) when in or near jump zones will promote safety for you and the jumpers.
The agenda will include discussions on:
1. Military Parachuting Activities.
2. HALO (High Altitude, Low Opening) and HAHO (High Altitude, High Opening) Procedures.
3. NOTAMs (Notice to Airmen) and their significance.
4. Radio Frequency Coordination when entering a Parachute Jump Area

Ryan Airfield (RYN) is about 14 road miles southwest of Tucson near the intersection of Ajo Way and West Valencia Road. The conference room is in the terminal building next to the airport restaurant.
If flying in, for short-term aircraft parking the Restaurant Ramp allows for street side access.
The Tower Ramp is reserved for long-term parking only.
