Topic:
Organized “Hangar Flying” Focused on Building Proficiency in Instrument Flying
Date and Time:
Wednesday, February 7, 2024, starting at 19:00 Mountain Standard Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
TBD
Brief Description:

EAA Chapter 1627 offers an IMC Club for our members - and aviation enthusiasts - who are interested in improving their flying in instrument conditions.

The IMC Club’s purpose is to promote instrument flying, proficiency, and safety. The intent is to create a community of pilots willing to share information, provide recognition, foster communications, promote safety, and build proficiency in instrument flying.

The IMC Club monthly programming is developed and produced by EAA, but it does not use a lecture or presentation format. Instead, an actual scenario is presented and is followed by a group discussion – so audience participation is encouraged! Since everyone has a different experience level and different airplane capabilities, we can all benefit from the discussion.

We provide snacks and drinks.

This event is sponsored and hosted by EAA Chapter 1627 and the FAA Safety Team.

What is the purpose of the IMC club?

At IMC Club, our purpose is to promote instrument flying, proficiency and safety. Along with IFR flying and monthly local chapter meetings, we offer a resource-rich website which provides an electronic experience base.

Our intent is to create a community of pilots in order to share information, provide recognition, foster communications, promote safety and build proficiency in instrument flying. IMC Clubs offer monthly meetings in which pilots can network and share knowledge and experiences.

Do you need to bring anything?

First, bring your thoughts or story and be willing to share them with the group. This meeting is very interactive. Participation by the group is a key element to the IMC Club meeting.

Some have found it helpful to bring along a copy of their flight manual, GPS manual and charts. If you navigate with a tablet, bring it along.

Who can attend?

You don’t need an instrument rating to attend. This meeting is open to all current, non-current, and future instrument pilots.
