Don DeMuth, Aerospace Physiology & Survival Instructor at the Civil Aerospace Medical Institute (CAMI) in Oklahoma City, OK and his team of instructors will teach Hypoxia Recognition Training using the Portable Reduced Oxygen Training Enclosure (PROTE). The enclosure simulates a high-altitude environment with a ground-based excursion 'flight' up to an altitude of 25,000 feet by reducing the percentage of oxygen in the air (as opposed to pressure). Participants have a chance to experience the effects of hypoxia first-hand in a controlled environment, allowing them to recognize their own unique symptoms!
All individuals participating in the PROTE exercise must be 18+ years of age and hold a current FAA First, Second, or Third Class Medical or Basic Med. No exceptions. Proof of each required upon arrival.
