Brief Description:

Dr. John will cover a broad range of common questions/topics that pilots have regarding medical certification. These will include using over-the-counter (OTC) medications and flying, getting your medical back after a heart attack, what happens if a pilot gets a DUI, and things that you can do to help speed the certification process. Also to be discussed is the topic of sleep apnea, pilot fatigue, and how this can affect your medical certificate. He will also outline some of the recent changes/updates made to the medical certification process, especially in the area of neurology.  As always, there will be time for your questions.

The Orlando FSDO-15 FAA Safety Team (FAASTeam), along with your local Treasure Coast FAASTeam, encourages all aviation safety-minded individuals to come and attend our every third Thursday of the month safety seminars.

Each meeting is held in a classroom inside the Skyborne Airline Academy Vero Beach maintenance hangar, which is located just west of the Vero Beach Regional Airport Main Terminal Bldg. Enter through the west side of the hangar, meeting is in Classroom M. Plenty of parking for cars and aircraft. For those of you flying in, park by the C.J. Cannon's restaurant at main terminal and walk west 100 yards.

Dr. Koziarski is a vascular surgeon who hails originally from Ohio and received his FAA senior medical designation in 2017. An accomplished aviator, Dr. John has owned a variety of aircraft, has land and sea ratings and has approximately 3,900 hours flying 53 different aircraft types.
