Speaker(s):
Kathy Harkness
Brief Description:

This seminar covers the following areas pertaining to rusty pilots and those unfamiliar with the Baltimore-Washington airspace:

  • Changes in airspace over the years
  • The DC SFRA/FRZ and local Presidential TFRs
  • New weather and briefing tools
  • Changes in technology including ADS-B
  • New medical rules, including light sport and BasicMed
  • Aeromedical factors for older pilots
  • Tools for self-guided continuing education

Advanced Ground Instructor Kathy Harkness was introduced to flying when a friend bought her an introductory flight, which lit a fire in her to further explore aviation. She went on to earn a sport pilot license, buy a classic 1939 Luscombe, and earn an advanced ground instructor certification. As an AGI, she loves to light the fire under other prospective pilots.
