GENE BENSON - PRESENTER
Gene Benson, CFII is celebrating his 50th anniversary as a flight instructor in 2021. He has given more than 8,000 hours of flight instruction in many different airplane types from Cubs to Jets. Having served as a line instructor, chief flight instructor, director of aviation, director of operations, and dean of aeronautics, he particularly enjoyed teaching and developing flight instructors.
His record includes endorsing 270 pilots for their initial flight instructor certification with 269 of them passing on the first attempt. His academic credentials include BA in Psychology, MS in Education, and MBA.
PAUL PREIDECKER - HOST
Paul J. Preidecker (paul@flightdeckinsights.com) has been a flight instructor for 30 years, and has logged more than 7800 hours of flying time.
He retired from Air Wisconsin Airlines, where he held the positions of Chief Flight Instructor and captain. In these roles, he served as an Aircrew Program Designee, Line Check Airman, and was qualified as a simulator and ground school instructor.
Paul has served as a member of an FAA Aviation Rulemaking Committee, an invited speaker at the NTSB Symposium on Professionalism, and moderated at the World Aviation Training Summit for several years. He is a co-host of FAA Safety Briefing Live and is a regular contributor to NAFI MentorLive. Paul is also a frequent speaker at aviation conferences and serves as a board member for NAFI.
Paul is president of his own company, FlightDeck Insights. As an experienced aviator and teacher, Paul contributes to aviation safety by blending SOPs and best practices between GA and Part 121 operations.
