The Brackett (KPOC) IMC Club is an educational resource for any current, rusty or aspiring IFR pilot.
Meetings typically start with a 'question of the month' based on an IFR approach plate or chart.
Presentation and discussion of an IFR scenario or analysis of a real-life IFR related event is the main topic of the month. Discussion can include planning, charts, navigation, weather, diversions, handling of equipment failures, and other unexpected events, all with an emphasis on decision making.
Everyone is welcome, participation is strongly encouraged and the meeting is open to all regardless of experience. There is no fee.

91.103 requires a pilot to familiarize him/herself with all available information BEFORE beginning a flight. Join us tonight as we plan a cross-country flight from POC to BFL utilizing all of our available VFR and IFR resources in keeping with 91.103 compliance. YOU are the PIC of this flight and will be making many Command Decisions about the execution of this mission, on the ground, in front of your computer, BEFORE you walk out to the airplane and without the pressure of flight. Flight planning is like assembling a jig-saw puzzle. Experience the identification of the puzzle pieces and test different combinations of factors as we assemble a final flight plan of action. Discover the utility of homogenizing the best of our VFR and IFR resources to fly efficiently, cost-effectively and with the greatest margin of safety available. Your participation in this group discussion is encouraged. We will learn from the exchange of each other's knowledge, perspectives and experiences.
