Brief Description:

On April 1, 2026, the National Flight Training Alliance, on behalf of more than 200 participants, submitted a recommendation report to the FAA entitled “A Comprehensive Modernization of Pilot Training Conducted by 14 CFR Part 141 Training Organizations.” This report details eight primary recommendations, including embracing new technology, using data to drive improvements, and establishing a central management office. NFTA’s Lee Collins will provide an update on the status of this report with likely next steps in the regulatory process.

Lee Collins currently serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Flight Training Alliance (NFTA), where he brings a wealth of leadership experience and passion for aviation to his current role. Early in his career, he was involved in flight training and eventually owned a 141 Flight Training Center in Louisville, KY. He was also instrumental in driving culture transformation and rebranding efforts during his tenure as President of an Airline Pilot Trade Association, where he demonstrated strong leadership and vision on a variety of important issues before our nation's airline industry. In his current role as CEO of NFTA, Lee is dedicated to leading this groundbreaking organization towards new horizons, leveraging his extensive experience in governmental and legislative affairs, organizational design, strategic vision, and leadership.
