Title:
NAFI 2025 - Debriefing With Data Not Feelings - At the PPC Education Center
Topic:
Increase Training Effectiveness Using Flight Telemetry, Audio and Video
Date and Time:
Friday, July 25, 2025, starting at 11:00 Central Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Bryan Halter
Brief Description:

Debriefs often center around 2-3 memorable moments in a flight, they're not a balanced look at the whole flight and a lot of feelings are involved due to intensity, recency and expectation bias. Professionalism demands adequate instruction, as instructors we must provide a full view of the flight and teach all the way through the debrief. This session will provide both an instructor and learners view on how to use modern techniques for collecting flight telemetry, audio and video. This data can be used for an in-depth debrief, home study and self-critique as well as future lesson planning by the instructor in a part 61 environment. The outcome is reducing training time by having specific areas for the instructor and learner to work on.

PRESENTED DURING THE EAA AIRVENTURE FLY-IN.  NO FEE FOR THE NAFI PRESENTATIONS, BUT AN ENTRANCE FEE IS REQUIRED BY EAA AIRVENTURE TO ENTER THE GROUNDS.
