Title:
Aging Aircraft
Topic:
Maintaining Aging Aircraft and Component Wear
Date and Time:
Saturday, June 22, 2024, starting at 11:30 Mountain Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Rick Jeffs - FAA
Brief Description:

One of the significant problems in aviation maintenance is aging aircraft and components. As aircraft age, they are increasingly susceptible to wear-and-tear issues, ranging from metal fatigue and corrosion to mechanical parts and electrical systems deterioration.

This presentation is designed to give you an overview of guidance on maintaining the airworthiness of the aging general aviation aircraft fleet and covers inspection/maintenance guidance on older aircraft for owners of older, small single-engine airplanes and the technicians who maintain them. We will offer helpful tips for assessing the effects of aging on their airplane. They will also find that this program guides user groups or type clubs to develop a checklist and gather reference information specific to a model type.
