Cold weather introduces unique survival challenges where exposure, hypothermia, and limited resources can quickly become life-threatening. Preparation and knowledge can make the difference between a successful rescue and a tragic outcome.
This seminar examines practical survival techniques for cold climate emergencies, including preflight preparation, survival kit planning, clothing selection, shelter construction, fire starting, signaling for rescue, food and water considerations, and the physiological effects of cold weather. Real-world examples and practical strategies will help pilots prepare for unexpected off-airport landings in remote or mountainous terrain.

Please bring something to take notes with (pencil and paper recommended). The seminar is held inside an airplane hangar, so we recommend wearing light, comfortable clothing, as temperatures may become warm during the presentation.
