Brief Description:

Experience Hypoxia symptoms while being safely monitored in the FAA PROTE Chamber. 

  • No-cost valuable hypoxia training opportunity for qualified pilots!*
  • Determine what your hypoxia symptoms are in order to recognize them.
  • Important for pilots flying at higher altitudes.

Wednesday October 21st through Saturday October 24th. 45 Minute time slots (Flights) are available from 8:00AM to 3:30 PM Wednesday through Friday. And, 8:00 AM to 11:45 AM on Saturday. Each flight will be a group of five Airmen.

Directions to Venue:

From Maryland 295 (BW Parkway) take Rte 32 East to exit 8, MD 198 towards Laurel/Ft Meade. Then turn Right to stay on 198 towards Laurel. Turn left onto Airfield Rd.  At the T, turn left onto General Aviation Dr. There are airport signs on both Rte 295 and Rte 32.

Signs will also be posted at the airport.

Participation Requires:

  • Current FAA First Class, Second Class, Third Class, or Basic Medical Certification.
  • Must be at least 18 yrs old
  • These will be validated at check-in with FAA and other government issued ID.
  • You must arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled time slot for the PROTE chamber.
  • Please plan approximately 2 hours for this event.
  • The organizers will be calling the day before you're scheduled to provide a friendly reminder. Be sure to answer to be advised if there are any last minute changes.
