Running out of fuel is one of aviation's most preventable emergencies—so why does it continue to happen? Fuel-related accidents rarely result from a single mistake. More often, they develop through a series of planning errors, assumptions, distractions, and changing conditions that gradually reduce a pilot's available options.
This seminar explores practical fuel management techniques from preflight planning through engine shutdown. Topics include fuel planning, aircraft performance, fuel system management, leaning techniques, weather and winds, reserve planning, in-flight decision making, diversion strategies, fuel exhaustion versus fuel starvation, and common pilot errors.
