Title:
Human Factors - The Final Frontier
Topic:
Understanding Human Factors as the Final Frontier in Reducing Aviation Accidents
Speaker(s):
Jim Barnosky ATP, CFII-ASMEL FAASTeam Representative
Brief Description:
Human errors account for approximately 80% of aviation accidents. We have made a lot of progress with accident rates steadily declining over time to the present day. To drive accident rates even lower, we have to improve our understanding of human capabilities and limitations.
This presentation will give an overview of how human factors affect our flying and how modern safety management systems and the WINGS program optimize the relationship between pilots, their aircraft and the environment they fly in.
