Brief Description:
Does the idea of talking to ATC stress you out? You’re not alone! This seminar will focus on the various ATC services available and how to ask for them. We will also discuss issues facing the National Airspace System now as it adapts to changing technology and rules. Whether VFR or IFR, you can make the most of operating in the system. We will discuss VFR flight following, flight plans, picking up IFR, canceling IFR, filing PIREPs, handling weather, traffic avoidance, and more!???????
- Learn ATC services available, and their limitations
- Be a good aviation citizen – learn how to file PIREPs, monitor 121.5, and maximize safety
- How to say what you are asking for in “ATC Speak”
- Use your callsign – every time!
- Brevity / good phraseology is important
