This seminar will review the FAA definition of preventive maintenance and discuss the specific maintenance tasks that pilots may perform on their aircraft. Participants will also learn the importance of proper logbook documentation, logbook Requirements, practical owner and renter responsibilitiesrequired inspections, and when maintenance must be performed by a certificated mechanic.
Special attention will be given to practical examples of preventive maintenance tasks commonly encountered by general aviation pilots, along with common misunderstandings that can lead to regulatory violations or safety concerns. This is an excellent opportunity for both renters and aircraft owners to better understand their responsibilities and maintain their aircraft safely. A good time to get your questions answered as well!
Please bring something to take notes with (pencil and paper recommended). Also consider bringing a light jacket, as the seminar is held inside an airplane hangar and it can sometimes be cool.
