Topic:
Risk, Reality, and Rudder: Operational Lessons from Alaska Float Flying
Date and Time:
Saturday, May 9, 2026, starting at 10:00 Pacific Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Carl Indriago
Brief Description:

What happens when your "runway" is a glassy fjord...your alternate is miles away...and the weather is already closing in?

Step into the real-world cockpit of a Part 135 Alaska float plane operation, where every decision carries risks vs rewards. Whether you are a student pilot or seasoned aviator, you will walk away with sharpened Aeronautical Decision-Making (ADM) skills and a renewed respect for disciplined decision-making

Carl Indriago (CFII/MEI) will use his recent experience as a commercial float plane pilot in Alaska to talk about safety scenarios from that challenging environment that also apply to all pilots, and give us tools to manage unique risks in our own flying. With a background in film and storytelling, Carl brings a dynamic, engaging presentation style. He blends technical expertise with vivid, real-life scenarios that resonate with pilots at every level.

Come and learn about a unique and BEAUTIFUL kind of flying, and take away some new decision-making tools.
