Brief Description:

Controlled Flight Into Terrain (CFIT) occurs when an airworthy aircraft, under the control of the pilot, is unintentionally flown into the ground, a mountain, water, or an obstacle. This type of accident typically occurs when the aircraft is operating in conditions of reduced visibility, poor weather, or at night, making it difficult for pilots to be aware of their proximity to the ground or other obstacles. CFIT incidents are often associated with a breakdown in situational awareness and can be exacerbated by factors such as navigational errors, miscommunication, or inadequate use of onboard instruments and technology.

Briefing on CFIT Accidents and associated factors. The session will cover Safety Risk Management (SRM) of potential CFIT situations, provide Tips and Strategies to avoid such incidents, additionally create Awareness of Vessels Traversing at SIG Airport.
