Title:
IMC Club Monthly Meeting EAA Chapter 766
Topic:
Surprises At Night
Speaker(s):
Dave Rudd IMC Leader, Tony Kolar CFII
Brief Description:
This seminar is not meant as a lecture but rather an open discussion forum using real world scenarios to increase your level of safety in the IFR environment such as this scenario: Surprises At Night. While in route at night in IFR conditions you notice an odor of burning plastic and then the instruments begin shutting down – you lose the PFD, both comm radios the GPS and the Transponder. The discussion will focus on emergency procedures, partial panel flying and back-up equipment.
To ensure a safe flight your priorities as PIC are to Aviate, Navigate & Communicate. Safe instrument flying is a matter of mitigating risk, personal minimums and standard operating procedures. The Sheboygan Falls (WI) EAA 766 IMC Club provides organized “hangar flying” focused on building proficiency in instrument flying. An instrument rating is not required for attendance.
