Regulations and Procedures
Date and Time:
Saturday, March 14, 2026, starting at 09:00 Pacific Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Richard Mend, CFI-AIM-ATP, FAAASTeam Rep
Brief Description:
Planning an IFR flight can seem overwhelming, especially with the many tools, procedures, and regulations that pilots must consider before departure. This seminar will explore practical methods for building a safe and efficient IFR flight plan from the ground up.

Participants will learn how to evaluate weather information, choose appropriate routes, identify suitable alternates, and understand the importance of fuel planning and regulatory requirements. The seminar will also review how professional pilots organize their planning process to reduce workload and avoid common mistakes.

Whether you are new to instrument flying or looking to refine your planning techniques, this discussion will provide valuable insights into preparing for safe and efficient IFR operations. Real-world examples will be discussed, and there will be plenty of time for questions and discussion.
