Non-Towered Airport Operations - LIVE ACTION
Topic:
A Fun, Live Demonstration of How Non-Towered Airports Operate in the Real World
Speaker(s):
Juan Browne, Carol Zerbe, Kellen Bodine
Brief Description:
This fun, live-action course gives pilots a real-world look at operations at non-towered airports through scenario-based demonstrations. Instructors will showcase traffic pattern procedures, radio communications, sequencing, and proper pattern entries in a dynamic, engaging format.
The session focuses on risk management and midair collision avoidance, highlighting common conflict situations, see-and-avoid strategies, and what to avoid in busy patterns.
This is a demonstration only. Attendees will not be participating in the scenarios but will observe, learn, and engage through guided discussion and debrief.
By the end, pilots will walk away with practical tools to operate more safely and confidently in uncontrolled airport environments.
