Title:
Wind Wings And Water When Runways Turn To Ripples
Topic:
Seaplane Operations
Speaker(s):
Andy Luebke, Amy Fenwick
Brief Description:
This presentation introduces seaplane flying to runway pilots through real-world stories and plenty of photos. We’ll explore how flying changes when the surface below you starts to move, and what that means for planning, decision-making, and safety.
The session covers what’s involved in earning a seaplane add-on rating, along with practical safety and operational topics, from pre-flight planning to recognizing and managing common water-flying hazards. The goal is to share what makes seaplane flying both fun and challenging, and how good judgment and preparation keep it safe and rewarding.
