Title:
EAA Chapter 129 VMC Club Meeting
Topic:
Handling a Deteriorating VFR Weather Situation in a Non-IFR Aircraft
Date and Time:
Saturday, February 14, 2026, starting at 09:00 Central Standard Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Carol Para
Brief Description:

Please join us Saturday morning, February 14th at EAA Chapter 129 for breakfast and our VMC Club Meeting . Breakfast is served from 7-9 am in the hangar, followed by the VMC Club program at 9:00 am. All are welcome whether or not you are an EAA member.

VMC Club meetings consist of a Question of the Month and a discussion scenario flight.

The scenario flight takes place in a Cessna 150 Aerobat in congested airspace with no attitude indicator or heading indicator. The visibility is deteriorating, making it difficult to navigate by pilotage to return to the airport. Think about what actions you would take to get yourself and an your passenger safely back to the airport in these conditions.

Our question of the month involves locating airport diagrams and taxi information for smaller unfamiliar airports.

Additional Event Information & Acknowledgement of Industry Sponsor(s):

The purpose of EAA Visual Meteorological Conditions (VMC) Clubs is to promote recreational flying, proficiency, and safety. The intent is to create a community of pilots willing to share information, provide recognition, foster communications, promote safety, and build proficiency in VFR day and nighttime operations. EAA VMC Clubs are extensions to local EAA chapters and offer monthly VMC program meetings where pilots can network and share knowledge and experiences. Since 2017 our pilots have improved their proficiency through the EAA VMC club programs and they love it.
