Title:
ATC Communications- Strategies for Success
Topic:
Air Traffic Control Communications and Phraseology
Speaker(s):
Mitch Carlson- FAASteam Representative, Nick Saffari- Redding Tower Controller
Brief Description:
Clear, concise, and accurate communications with ATC are critically important. This seminar will go over each step of the process needed to fly into and out of a class D airport. We will discuss proper terminology, phraseology, and common mistakes made by pilots when operating in the class D environment. We will also provide some tips and strategies to make the next flight to any tower controlled airport a smooth one.
A local tower controller will be joining us at the seminar to help answer questions, provide input from a controller's point of view, and dispel any myths you have had about controllers and controlled airspace.
The seminar lasts from 10:00am- 12:00pm. The Corning chapter of the EAA will have their BBQ and monthly meeting after the seminar. Feel free to stay for lunch and the EAA meeting (lunch is $10).
