Title:
SUN n FUN 2026 Forum - Fifty Years of Attention to Human Factors - Not Fixed Yet!
Topic:
Dr. Bill will offer a way to categorize human-related errors and do a progress check on today’s interventions.
Date and Time:
Saturday, April 18, 2026, starting at 14:30 Eastern Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Dr. Bill Johnson, Safety Consultant Drbillj.com LLC
Brief Description:

Leonardo da Vinci considered human performance in aviation. His Vitruvian Man was an effort to determine the size and strength of a possible first aviator. Jump ahead five hundred plus years and human factors remain a significant hazard to safe operations and maintenance. Let’s look back for the past fifty years to see how aviation human factors interventions have evolved. Even with extensive industry, government, and academic efforts we seem to have many of the same human-induced errors. Dr. Bill will offer a way to categorize human-related errors and do a progress check on today’s interventions.
