This presentation addresses how and where Mountain Waves form, their impact, what Powered Aircraft pilots can learn from Glider pilots and others who have actually experienced mountain waves. Bill shares the enlightenment and respect for Mountain Wave shared with him by airline pilots, reliving their experience.
Bill Hill is a retired airline pilot, former Air Traffic Controller, Air Ambulance Pilot, movie star, and a Glider Pilot, accumulating more than 20,000 total hours of flight time. Bill developed a safety training program on Mountain Wave for Skywest Airlines, based on actual experiences. He is author of, "Riding The Wind: A Lifetime of Flying" and appeared in the movie "Cloud Street, Soaring the American West".
