Ground school will be held in the Main Conference Room on the 1st Floor in the Centennial Airport (ACPAA) building.  The signage on the outside of the building visible from the street says "THE HANGAR". This is the real deal.  For over 20 years the Colorado Pilots Association (CPA) has been providing this vital aviation safety program to local as well as airman from around the world.

Presented this year by mountain flying experts Bill Dunn and Bill Standerfer, this interactive course includes:

  • Route planning in mountainous terrain
  • Charting and other resources for the mountain pilot
  • Mountain weather
  • Limitations in aircraft and pilot performance at high elevation
  • Density Altitude & High elevation operations
  • Flight techniques used in mountainous terrain
  • Communication & ATC considerations
  • Survival overview

This all day ground school is from 8:30 to 5:00.

Seating is limited and this program is being offered on a first come, first served basis.

There are several easy options for lunch within a short distance.
