Title:
VMC Scenario Based Safety Discussion
Topic:
Discussion on Aircraft Center of Gravity and Runway Markings
Speaker(s):
Timothy Meyer, Howard Kaney
Brief Description:
VMC (Visual Meteorological Conditions) Question of the Month: How do airplane flight characteristics change as the CG is moved from a forward position to an aft position, and why? We will discuss that an aircraft loaded out of the Center of Gravity can cause you to loose control of the aircraft.
IMC Question of the month: How can runway centerline stripes be used to measure or monitor takeoff and landing performance? This is a question that most pilots are unable to answer.
We will discuss the answers to the two questions of the month as well as the VMC and IMC Video Scenario and discuss what we would do if we found ourselves in the same situations more importantly, how to prevent ourselves from getting into these situations in the first place.We view and discuss short videos presenting flight scenarios that any Visual Flight Rules pilot can learn from others. Members discuss short videos and how they would respond to the given scenario. This is an open Forum for free ideas and we all learn from Shared Experience!
