Title:
Aircraft Accidents for First Responders (SJU)
Topic:
Acquainting First Responders with Aircraft Systems, Scene Safety and Scene Preservation
Speaker(s):
Jorge L. Echegoyen and Raymond Gonzalez
Brief Description:
Fire, Ambulance, and Law Enforcement personnel are the main audience for this event. First Responders are the front line to saving lives and preserving evidence in aviation accidents.
This outreach initiative aims at familiarizing First Responders with aircraft systems, such as ballistic rockets, door operation, and the location of fuel and other possible life threatening fluids and systems found on aircraft. In addition, we will discuss accident scene safety and preservation as well as common issues found with aircraft accidents.
Hands-on exercises using actual aircraft have been planned and coordinated with local operators at San Juan International to enhance classroom discussion.
This is a closed event open only to First Responders from the municipalities of Bayamon, Carolina and San Juan.
