Title:
South Florida Topics Of The Month
Topic:
Operations Over Water And Return To Service
Date and Time:
Tuesday, July 15, 2025, starting at 18:00 Eastern Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Luca F. Bencini-Tibo.
Brief Description:

TOPIC 1: General Aviation Operations Over Water

Studies suggest that planning and knowledge of over-water Pre and In-Flight processes and procedures can reduce the frequency of water landings (ditching) and the severity of consequences should a pilot be forced to ditch.

TOPIC 2: Approval for Return to Service

Pilots often have an incomplete awareness of their responsibilities for the airworthiness of the aircraft they fly. That lack of awareness can lead to accepting unairworthy aircraft for flight operations. This presentation explains the importance of proper return to service determination and documentation.
