Brief Description:
The Florida Aviation Network (FAN) is broadcasting this popular multi-part aviation safety talk show that is recorded "Live". Ron Timmermans will interview our special guests. Segments 1 and 2 will feature Dr. George Bartuska, "The Weather Guy". In segment 1, they will talk about our new show “Sky Insights” and discuss Dr Bartuska's background and involvement in meteorology, including his participation in the Governor’s annual Hurricane Conference.
Segment 2 will focus on hurricanes. Hurricane season starts June 1. Few weather events can compare with the destructive total force of a hurricane. These large rotating tropical storms are capable of annihilating coastal areas with sustained winds of 155 miles per hour or higher, other areas with intense rainfall and flooding, and a catastrophic coastal flooding event known as a storm surge.
